Greetings ITD Family!
We hope everyone has enjoyed the Summer break and is gearing up to get back out in the dirt for our first ride in October!
We are excited to have you join us for our annual ITD picnic pot luck Sunday, August 28th at 4:30 at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point. For those of you that haven’t been to our annual picnic before this is the time we plan for the upcoming season and hope that you will join us! (Please RSVP yes or no to Family @ orangecountycomputer.com).
Team Pinedo will BBQ some hamburgers/hot dogs and ask that you bring potluck items such as side dishes, salads, fruit, veggies, etc. We will provide the drinks and paper products.
In the past years we have had our picnic and then held our Annual Planning Meeting at a different time, but this year we are combining both together.
Many new families joined us for the first time this past season and we would love to see you again on August 28th.
This past season we witnessed God’s glory and blessing within many of our ITD Families and look forward to catching up with everyone.
This ministry belongs to us all. Each of us contributes something to make this ministry thrive. As ITD continues to grow it can’t be done without all the valuable members that volunteer and make it what it is! This year we would love to have you ALL involved! We are including a list of all the volunteer opportunities in this email for you to review.
Please pray about where God would have you serve and come ready to sign up on August 28th! We will have a poster for each of the categories below with a spot for each month for you to sign up! Remember that families can share in trailbossing duties and it’s a fun way to team up with old and new friends.
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace” 1 Peter 4:10
We are certain that God will continue to bless this ministry group with family and friends who care about each other, and who want to become closer to Christ in each and every aspect of their lives. We all enjoy camping and off-roading, however our common bond is our faith and love in Jesus Christ and our desire to serve and honor Him.
TRAILBOSS
Being a trail boss is a great way to meet everyone in the group and really expose yourself to connecting! Don’t let leading rides scare you off from being a trail boss. The trail boss organizes and coordinates the weekend activities. We had some really fun and new ideas last season!
The following list is meant to help them so that everybody makes it to the camping spot and we all have a safe and fun weekend.
1. Verify that the chosen location is open for us to ride at least a month ahead of time so we can reschedule if need be.
2. The trail boss makes sure a map and GPS coordinates get on the website at least a few weeks ahead of time so we all know where we are going.
3. The trail boss is the first one to get to camp and set up signs/directional arrows that help everyone find camp.
4. Make sure everyone gets a personal welcome when they arrive!
5. You plan activities for the weekend (trail rides, games, contests, poker runs, etc) Everyone loves an organized trail ride, but they are not mandatory. Do not let an organized ride scare you off from being a trail boss. The kid rides are always a favorite! A one mile loop with a trail of 15 kids is always fun to see! If you choose to lead an organized trail ride, a good suggestion would be to pick a destination 10-15 miles from camp and chart a route suitable for riders of all levels. If you want other ideas for organizing trail rides or activities you can talk to Robert Murry or Matt Richter.
6. Coordinate people to bring enough firewood for Friday and Saturday night.
7. Assume responsibility for cleaning up our campsite and/or signs on the way out. Leave our site better then we found it.
8. This responsibility can be shared among 2 individuals/families.
JACKRABBITS: Help organize games, activities, and/or bible study lessons for the kids for Saturdays. We need one volunteer per month.
CAMPFIRE GAMES: Lead a campfire game that is suitable for families and a campfire atmosphere. One volunteer per month is needed.
We look forward to seeing all of you at Doheny Beach in a few weeks.
